Slackware 12.1 is out!! Just upgraded to 12.1 today, did two clean installs. Slackware all the way, man:-)

Heh, I agree, I had the same feeling about Slack when I started using it, it really bothered me; I was very frustrated. But, I stuck with it.

I love Slack. Installed Slack 8 from a book about Linux Networking because I was too stupid to realize Slack is as user friendly 'as a coiled rattlesnake'. Later I went to Vector Linux (on old hardware). VL has some limitations and now I'm running Slack 12.0 … I use Slackupdate.sh from Darklinux as it meets my needs well. Great blog you have, eh?

Yes. I know that partitioning your unit can be a pain. I recommend that you use cfdisk to do the partitioning as it is a bit more user-friendly than fdisk.

For example to partition an IDE drive designated as hda you would start-up cfdisk:

#cfdisk /dev/hda

Set your root partition as bootable and set your swap partitionon to type 82, (linux swap)

hi hi test im still struggling to install slackware

the problem in

the partitioning tool

on the cd

i cant find how to partition

i can do the rest but without a partition it wont install
